Can I promote a video that is monetized?
Yes. Your campaign runs on Google Ads, which is YouTube’s own ad platform, so promoting a video does not change its monetization settings and does not put your channel at risk.
Do the subscribers count toward the 1,000 subscriber requirement?
They are real people who chose to subscribe. They show in your subscriber count, get your new uploads, and can watch, like and comment like anyone else.
For the Partner Program application, YouTube counts organic subscribers and organic watch hours. Its own help page says subscribers and watch hours gained through ad campaigns are not part of the eligibility count. That is how YouTube treats every ad on its platform, not a Sprizzy rule.
What your campaign builds is the audience that gets you there. When someone finds you through the ad and then comes back to watch your videos normally, YouTube treats that viewing as organic, and it counts.
Do the views count toward the 4,000 public watch hours?
No. Time that people spend watching your video as an ad is counted separately by YouTube and does not go toward the public watch hour requirement. That is how YouTube treats all ads on its platform, not a Sprizzy rule.
What does count is what happens next. When someone sees your ad and then watches your videos normally, on your channel or from their feed, that watch time counts like any other view. Growing an audience that comes back is the route to the watch hour requirement.
Why are my watch hours going down?
YouTube counts watch hours over a rolling 12 months. Hours you earned more than a year ago drop off the total. If new hours arrive more slowly than old ones expire, the number falls. This happens to every channel and is not caused by your campaign.
What helps
- Keep uploading, so new subscribers have something to come back to.
- Promote a video that leads naturally into the rest of your channel.
- Look at retention in YouTube Studio to see which videos hold attention.
