What makes a video easy to target
Sprizzy has to match your video with people who are already watching something similar. That is easiest when your video has a clear subject.
Educational and how-to videos. People search YouTube for answers all day. If your video teaches something, you can target the exact phrases they type.
Videos in a busy niche. If large channels cover your topic, you can target their channels and videos directly, so your ad appears next to content your audience already watches.
Topics people search for often. The more your subject is searched, the more chances there are to show your ad to someone looking for it.
Music. Songs and music videos work well because you can target fans of a genre and of specific artists.
What is harder to target
Vlogs, personal updates and very unusual subjects are harder, because there is no obvious search term or similar channel to point at. The campaign has to test broader audiences, and results vary more.
If that is your content, start with a smaller budget, target the channels your viewers already watch, and use what you learn on the next campaign.
Things that matter as much as the topic
- Your thumbnail and title. They are your ad in the in-feed, search and Shorts placements.
- The first few seconds. In-stream viewers can skip after five seconds.
- Targeting that matches the video. Broad words like vlog, music or funny bring in people who were not looking for your content.
